Introducing the Kittens

Hello. First of all, I'd like to apologize for not posting yesterday. I was in the middle of cropping pictures when my dad needed his computer back, and then I got distracted by my mom's birthday celebration stuff, so I kind of forgot to finish until it was too late. So I guess I'll do yesterday's post today.

Yay! Those are the kittens! They all have names that we'll use for them until they go to their new homes and are renamed. The one on the upper left corner of the picture is Cotton. I named him because he's really soft and white. The one in the upper middle is Duckling. My sister Shaya named that one because he's (I think he's male? I don't remember for sure) the smallest one and he's orange. On the upper right is Gato. My brother Braelen named her the Spanish word for cat, because that's just one of those things he would do. In the center of the picture is Thunder, named by Shaya because she's dark gray. Even though thunder doesn't have a color since it's a sound... But still, I guess that's the color of the clouds during a thunderstorm. The kitten in the lower left corner is Teddybear. He was named by my other sister Khasia because he's an adorable ball of fluff and needed a suitably adorable name. In the lower middle is Garfield. He was named by my mom Tamara for reasons that should be fairly obvious by his appearance. But no, he's never had lasagne. The final kitten in the lower right corner is Dante. He was named by my dad Robert. Ever read the Inferno by Dante? Dante uses himself as his main character. The kitten Dante is very explorative and mischievous.

There has been a lot of arguing over names, so don't be surprised if you hear one of us calling one of the kittens by a different name. For example, Khasia refuses to call Gato anything but Angel. I'm not sure why. Maybe she thinks it's a stupid name, or maybe it's just a pride thing. I try my best to call them all by what they were named as. My main problem is getting Gato and Teddy mixed up, and mixing up Duckling and Garfield.

About me

Hello again! I decided to do a normal blog post today instead of another story post. I realized that in my original introduction post, I told you almost nothing about me as a person, so I figured I had better fix that.

I, Arriah, am a pretty normal girl. I'm sixteen, I'm the oldest of four children, and I'm currently enrolled in Granite Falls High School. Oh, but my schooling... That's where the first of my oddities come in. You see, even though I'm enrolled in GFHS, I don't attend there. I don't even have any classes there. I am a part of the Running Start program, which means that all of my classes are taken at Everett Community College, for both college and high school credit. When I graduate from high school, I will also have my Associate's degree. Pretty cool, huh?

My hope is then to attend BYU. But not in Utah. In Idaho. The one in Utah is considered a better school, and much harder to get into. That's not the reason I chose Idaho though. I simply feel that BYUI is a better fit for me. However, as time pulls me toward graduation, my interests and dreams are changing. I'm still open to other schools and other paths. I get emailed by various universities daily, telling me about the benefits of attending their schools. I could unsubscribe from the program that gives them my email address, but I don't, because I want to consider all my options.

Um, other than my schooling... I like to write, obviously. I also love to read, act, and work on big projects that consume my interest for a few days or even weeks before I return to reality. And, this post is becoming way too long. Time to stop talking. That's another thing, I don't talk much. I write a lot, but unless I'm acting I tend to be rather quite and even shy.

...And I'm a Mormon.
