A window on the same wall as the fireplace looked out on a dark, sleeping city street. The closed door on another wall stubbornly kept the cold night air outside, allowing the flames to fill the room with a cozy warmth. Rich paintings adorned the walls, an old-fashioned carpet lay in the middle of the room, and an ancient cushioned chair faced the fireplace, giving the place a classic charm. The room was usually comfortable and cheery, but the events of the moment drove all happiness away.

My Brother's Hawkwood
This is a picture my brother, Braelen, drew of Hawkwood. Yes, he gave me permission to post it. Isn't he an artist? He's able to draw straight out of his imagination too. I know that when I draw, I always need a model. And I can't get anything near this. Good job, brother. :)

Destiny (Story)
It was in this city of Hawkwood, in the year 483a.w. (after war), on the third day of the sixth month, that something was happening of enough importance to shape the future of the world. It didn't seem like a particularly important night to the average citizen sleeping in their bed. Indeed, only four individuals even knew of the event, and only three would remember it. But sometimes the most significant events in history are forever lost to the public's view.

Hawkwood (Story)
The city, Hawkwood, was not large. It had been founded by a family of lesser nobles of the kingdom of Astyria. The family's symbol was the hawk, and so the city was named. It had begun as a humble village with few citizens, but was quickly discovered to be surrounded by a rich supply of wood and game. Soon it grew to support a thriving population.
